Dec. 4 -- Following an illness of six weeks with complications, death early today claimed Mrs. Araminta Rachel WHITINGER, 74, widow of William Whitinger. She had lived practically all of her life within a quarter of a mile of where she was born. Since the death of her husband March 29, 1919, she had lived alone at the residence 3 miles north of Colfax. Four weeks ago, however, she was moved to the home of her son, Elvin Whitinger, a short distance away. For the past six weeks her condition has gradually become worse until the end came this morning at 3:30 o'clock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Colfax ME Church with Rev JP Alford, pastor officiating. Burial in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Whitinger was born on the same farm on which she died May 2, 1857, daughter of Samuel and Eveline BAILEY. She was married to Whittinger Feb 26, 1880. She is survived by the son, Elvin who lives on the old homestead; 3 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Morris T. and Frank E. of the Farmer Chapel neighborhood and Will E. of Hillsburg; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Whitinger was a member of the Farmer Chapel ME Church from girlhood until the time the church was abandoned; since then she had been affiliated with the Colfax ME Church.
